Teammate McClain steps in for battle with Lewis
An injury late in training for the MFC 24: Heat XC co-main event has dropped David Heath from Friday’s card, but his teammate Ryan McClain has stepped up to the challenge.
McClain (9-3), who like Heath hails from Tulsa, Oklahoma, will meet Dwayne Lewis (10-4) in a light heavyweight tussle with Lewis looking to extend his winning streak to seven straight. Heath suffered what has been initially diagnosed as a partially torn right bicep while sparring late last week. He continued to train right up until Saturday and still was looking forward to fighting until a final visit to the doctor on Monday.

Mark Pavelich MFC President on CARSONS CORNER
Posted: Feb 19, 2010
As the next fight show promoted by the Maximum Fighting Championship draws near, MFC president Mark Pavelich finds himself mired in something of a controversy. We're delighted that we are able to bring you Mark's definitive statement about this situation. After you hear this interview, you'll wonder whether the media created this drama and, if so, why.
Host Bob Carson and Mark also talk about MFC 24: Heat XC, which takes place on February 26. You'll hear a breakdown of the fights and analysis with the president that is presented in a way that you probably aren't used to hearing from the head of a major company. Mark also discusses the MFC futures of such fighters as Travis Lutter and Dean Lister. As usual, Pavelich holds nothing back. It's all there and you won't want to miss it.
Big leap for Lewis

Stakes high but target in reach for light heavyweight hopeful
Dwayne Lewis has had moments before in his career when he could have, and arguably, should have seized an opportunity and tapped it out.
But for whatever reason, whether it was inexperience, stage fright or tactical error, Lewis never grabbed a hold of those chances and soared to new heights. There is no turning back this time for Lewis, one of the Maximum Fighting Championship’s most-popular competitors, when he faces the biggest name and most important test of his career.
Maximum Fighting Championship ready to feel the "Heat" on Feb. 26

How do you improve upon the success of Maximum Fighting Championship, Canada's leading mixed martial arts promotion? Easy. You simply combine it with Heat XC, Canada's second-leading mixed martial arts promotion.
That's the premise behind the upcoming MFC 24: Heat XC event scheduled for the River Cree Resort and Casino on February 26. Two all-star promotions, one star-studded event.
Just don't tell any of the talent in Heat XC they're second best, even to the big guns mixing it up under the MFC banner. You can be sure that fighters like Jason Kuchera, who's ended his last two contests in violent fashion, will be looking to prove that he's one of many up-and-coming Heat XC fighters on the precipice of superstardom.
Roads of opportunity

Four fighters facing pivotal situations at MFC 24
Cross roads and new roads.
They are both defining moments in a fighter’s career. Cross roads, more times than not, are make-or-break fights, must-win situations, and absolute keys when considering whether a fighter has anything left to give or whether his better days are behind him.
New roads are essentially those paths that young, up-and-coming fighters travel down. Times in their blossoming careers when they can step up to new heights or they are forced to re-focus and start fresh.
Two fights on the undercard of MFC 24: Heat XC are the epitome of cross roads-new roads fights. Travelling down the cross roads are Jared Kilkenny and Jason Kuchera while strolling down the new roads are David Letourneau and Nick Hrynchyshyn. The two matchups will be among the Heat XC bouts of show slated for Friday, February 26 at the River Cree Resort and Casino.

Top 3 most anticipated match-ups at MFC 24
Posted: Feb 7 , 2010
MFC 24: Heatxc is approaching quickly with only 3 weeks of waiting time left until some of the most interesting and stylistically sound match ups take place live from the river cree resort and casino and streaming live on www.maximumfighting.com for only $9.99.
In my opinion, these are the top 3 not to be missed fights of MFC 24…
1) Dami Egbeyemi vs. Paapa Inkumsah – Dami is making is MFC/heatxc debut with a perfect record of 4 wins and no losses, he is a very strong welterweight with a lot of raw power and a well rounded skill set, look for him to quickly become a contender if he can by Inkumsah. Inkumsah has a very similar fighting style as Dami which makes for such an interesting fight. Both are strong fast and viscious and both can become champions – This is an early test for both and could be one of those fights in which case a rematch could happen as one of them a champion and the other looking to become a champion.
